Hard Disk Password

By rubsmong ·
My Dell laptop P2 HDD crashed and so i bought this hard disk from someone who was having an IBM thinkpad laptop. The HDD that i bought was 5GB and when i connected it to my Dell Laptop and switched it on it gives me the message "the hard disk is protected by a password the system cannot write to it please enter the password and press enter to continue" problem is the person who sold me the hdd does not remember ever putting a password and the machine wont do anything until u enter the pswd. Does anyone know how i can crack this pswd so that i can use my dell p2 once more.

IBM Thinkpads have a security feature that allows you to password protect your hard drive. This password cannot be deleted or bypassed. You must have a Thinkpad AND the password to remove it. Even IBM tech support cannot help you with this.

It takes special hardware that cost a ton to remove that password.

Even the drive maker won't do it.
