Hard Drive and Permissions

by Shanghai Sam In reply to Hard Drive and Permission ...

Question do you log on as a user or as a Administrator?
If you are are are user and you don't belong to the authenticated users group then of course you will not get access to the drive.
If you have Administrator rights and log in as Administratorthen all you have to do is
open up the adminstration tools found in the control panel look for the Computer Management snap in.
look up users and groups and then change your login id to become a member of that group.
if that fails then.
login as administrator bring up the properties of the drive and change the group name that is assigned to it or smiply add your login id to the security list.
