Recently I’ve been have trouble getting a 80gig western digital hard drive to boot with a QDI Brillant X 1S motherboard. At first it would detect at and it would freeze while trying to auto detect. So I update the BIOS to the latest verison could find. It now detects it on the first screen at post but then stops on the next window on the Pri Master Disk LBA, UDMA 2, and proceeds no further into the other IDE channels. I’ve tried switching the IDE Channels around, Turned off DMA support neither of which helped. It will detect small drives like 20gigs or so but no the 80. I also shrunk the boot partition down to 10gigs but that didn’t work either. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
