About 6 months ago I installed two 10gig western digitial hard drives. Slowly after that I started noticing a loud CLANK when I signed out of windows every time. Eventually the hard drives started clanking on thier own without me doing anything. I called western digital and they have sent me a replacement of ONE drive so far. I already had a small 40gig laying around to be put in something. But now it’s starting again! As I sign out of windows I get the loud clank on both drives again. WD says they no longer know what the problem is. I called PROMISE (the maker of my ata/66 card) and they shook off the problem right away as being anything thier controller would be afecting. Where do I go from here??
