Hard Drive Error

By computer-man ·
I keep receiving "Hard drive disk 1 Failure" when my computer boots up. I have just one hard drive not two. My question is this: What keeps causing it and how can I get into the setup utility to fix it?

The possibility that drive may be going out or you have bad clusters on the drive

Use scandisk to check for bad sectors on the drive

Also when the computer boots,at startup screen press the designated key to enter bios and check the confuration to see if drive is recognized

I think you need to get into the bios setup and turn off drive 1 - it is probably set to auto detect and there is no drive there so the bios reports an error.

Watch your screen during boot up for instructions on how to enter the bios setup or check the manual or manufacturer of the motherboard/bios for the instructions
