hard drive errors, dell error code 7

I have reformatted the hard drive and reloaded windows xp and it still comes up with a blue screen and error code when i run disk test it fails with error code 7. help

Is to use the HDD Makers Testing Utility and test the HDD that way. You can get your HDD Makers testing Utility here

Just click on the HDD Makers Name and you will be prompted to where you want to save the file to.

Now when you test the HDD if it fails the test you need to remove it and fit to a different system and retest. If ti still Fails the HDD is shot and needs replacing but if it passes the second test you need to look at the M'Board, Data Lead or Power Supply being the faulty component that needs replacing. You need to retest the HDD with the Old Data lead on the new computer to rule out the Data Lead. If that Is OK change the PS in the original computer and retest. If it still fails the M'Boards HDD Controller has failed and the M'Board needs replacing.
