I did a defrag on my computer. Let it run and came back to find it on the boot up screen saying Windows did not shut down properly. Tried the safe mode and it hung. Unable to boot and asked to hit Ctrl-Alt-Del. I have another exact same machine (E-machine T6212). Using it to boot from and it will recognize the drive is there but saying paramaters are incorrect. Diagnosis is corrupted master file table. How do I recover the hard drive? Do I take an image of it to another drive and reformat the ‘bad’ one (Seagate 160GB 7200 RPM drive)?
