Hard Drive Gone

Okay... 1000 pts for the person who answers this with the correct answer in less than an HOUR! Oh ya....
I run XP Pro. 400Mgz. 300+SDRAM. 4 hard drives. 1 of the drives is completely unformatted in some RAW format (according to Windows) after another one of Windows crashes that result in a power off.
I need data off this drive (yes, backups are done but none with today's data).
What is wrong with the drive and how do I get it back up?
You got 1h to give me the correct answer, and you get 1000 pts.
Good luck.

"Best Guess"
Windows was writing to the MBR or FAT when the crash happened.

I would use a recovery utility such as OnTrack, or Spin-Rite to reconstruct to MBR and FAT records.

You could also try removeing the IDE controllers from Device manager, and re-booting.
This 're-freshes' the IDE drivers, and can fix some Windows drive detection problems.

Sorry. Do not have those programs.
As with deleting the IDE contents... all 4 drives are the same. I can not chance to loose another drive.

If you know the drive which is not being detected, try removing the same and add it to other pc (with similar Windows version if possible).
See if u get it on and are able to see the data.
Best of luck.

Sorry. I did this idea last night and after finding the correct drive, other machines (2) see an unformatted disk as well. I had no choice but to format........ Even Partition Magic was no help.
Doh!
