QUESTION: What’s the most effective disk recovery tool?
Had an IDE drive with 2 partitions (one was the primary boot drive, the other was storage).
Then one day, suddenly unable to boot. Installed a new primary drive and tried to run a partition/drive recovery program to save my data (400 GBs of pictures/music etc).
Recovery program seems to work and recognize folders/files, but when I go to copy . . . computer reboots. Then unable to finish booting unless the drive in question is physically disconnected. Just took it to Fry’s, but they were of no help.
I had a lot of irreplaceable stuff on the drive (now I’ve learned my lesson of backing up). But how do I recover my files???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
