The files being accessed/written are occurring on a 2nd hard drive.

Frequently, the 2nd hard drive doesn't activate the HDD light.

The LED Plug for the Front Panel connector is plugged in the wrong way. Light Emitting Diodes are a polarized Device meaning that they need to be plugged in Positive to Positive and Negative to Negative.

As these are a Diode they only allow electricity to flow one way. If they are plugged in the wrong way they just don't produce any light.
