After a quick power failure in the building Maxtor hard drives not being recognised in the BIOS. I would like to recover the data and sending them to a data recovery company is not an option.
Is there any way to force the BIOS into recognising the hard drive. I have tried this so far all unsuccessful:-
– manually entering heads, sectors but BIOS will not accept the cylinder numbers.
– tried sharp knock on hard drive
– tried freezing
– tried changing the controller board with a known good one
– tried recognising a good hard drive and hot swapping with the faulty one.
