Hard Drive Not Recognized

by cveldm . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Computer was running without issue. Attempted to access MS Outlook and recieved an error message (did not write it down). Clicked on “OK” and it went to the Blue Screen with the following error: KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, Stop 0x0000007A (##########, 0xC000000E, ##########, ##########). I did a hard reboot and checked the BIOS. The hard drive was not recognized by the bios and the OS will not startup. I installed the HDD on a second system and was able to access files. Reinstalled the HDD on the first computer and the OS started up. Attempted to start MS Outlook again and received the same errors.

What should I try next? What was “reset” when I transferred the HDD out of and back into the computer that allowed it to startup? What is causing the crash?
