Ok, so here’s my situation.
I recently purchased new hardware, new hard drive included. So, put together all new parts & installed the version of Windows XP on my old hard drive on the new one. Set old hard drive as slave drive.
When I boot up, I can see the drive but I can not access specific user folders that I had previously password protected user log-ins. I previously (once) had booted up from THAT drive, logged in, copied some files, then booted back up from my new hard drive. It worked fine. However now when I try to boot up from that hard drive it tells me my windows version is not geniuine blah blah and will not let me in until I register, however I can not register.
I have tried putting the hard drive in a seperate tower, as slave drive but obviously still can’t access user password protected account files.
ANY idea how I can just get the darn files, as easily as possible? Or am I just screwed because I used that Windows XP license on a new hard drive?
Thanks for any help in advance!
