Hard drive! Silly me.

By Young ITC officer ·
Hello All,

This is a really stupid one, but I am hoping for miracles. I wont say the story just get to the point. I slated the wrong hard drive by accident is it possible to somehow fix the MBR or partition table?

you might try an unformat program, but it would be unlikely to fix your problem. The only solution would to have the data recovered - a costly exercise.

IF you only needed to fix the MBR, then fdisk /mbr is the solution

you could try Norton Disk Doctor. It can sometimes fix MBRs, depending on the problem. I'm not sure what you've actually done. Did you reformat? Did you use fdisk to repartition? Did you change settings in the CMOS? Depending on what you've done, you might recover by resetting your PC to the way it was before.
