Hard Drive's Head Stucked

By murillo_l ·
The hard disk is doing a sound like "click" seem to be that the head is touching with the surface or the head is stucked, the BIOS doesn't detect the hard disk, i changed the jumpers settings as slave and no hard disk (master & slave) are detected by BIOS, aslo i change the hard disk to secondary IDE controller and the bios still is not detecting the hard disk.
what can i do in order to recover the information?

Sorry , but your hard drive saw its last days ...

It crashed !

If the information is very important you can always contact a Data Recovery Lab that has a white room .
They will then take out the platers in a 100% dust free room and recover the data for you with special machines .

Please do note that they are going to charge you a lot of money for the recovery ....

This is why everybody says that you must make BACKUPS regularly .

Sorry for the bad news .

You can give a shot to your hard-disk.
Try to connect your bad HDD to a working pc - as a secondary, that is you will connect this as an additional hard-disk, and not use its OS.
See if by any chance it gets detected. If u r lucky, it might, and will let u copy data out of it.

here is the 101 ways to resurrect a hard disk here at tech republic but noises like pinging are not good as johan says it's toast. Flip side there are companies who can get the data, bad side your looking in the thousands of dollars for recovery. It all comes down to whats it worth?
Good luck

yep I agree with the others on this one, sounds like the disk has died not even changing the controller board will help with this one by the sounds of it. I do remember from the last time I read the 101 on getting HDD's spinning again that a popular move was to hit the drive with a hammer to knock it free but pull the data off while it's running.

they say if you put your hard drive in moisture proof bag and in the freezer overnight it can give you one last shot at your data...last thing to try before you give up anyway...
