I am looking for a program to wipe some harddrives before sending them out the door. I would like a DOS based program. The plan is to send these pc's out the door with out any software installed, so a program that will run from a boot floppy would be the absolute ticket.
Thank You Michelle

Why not just create a DOS 6.22 boot disk with fdisk.exe, format.exe and run fdisk and remove all partitions, recreate one partion, activate it and "format /s" it with DOS?
Most drive manufacturers offer utilities to "factory re-certify" used drives. (Disk Manager by Ontrack for Western Digital, Maxblast from Maxtor for Maxtor,,, etc). The benefit of using oem software is that it was devised specifically for the device by the people who make and support their drives ...
If you need more specifics about the drives you want to blank, please post a comment in this thread describing make and model and we will see what we can do ..

This would be a good idea if I need to certify the disks as good. All I need is a utility that would make our old info unrecoverable. But Thank You for the thought.
Norton Utilites has had a product for years called 'Wipedisk'. This program completely vapourizes the data by writing over it seven times. You can run that program from a boot floppy - but I believe it is not a part of the Norton Utilites 2001 suite. Best to contact Symantec about this.
Also, Stranos Security Suite contains a shredder, but this would require mounting the drive as a slave disk and wiping it.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
