I have a small problem…When I try to start HardDrake, it goes to a full black screen after displaying the HardDrake splash screen. At this point, I have a cursor in the upper-left corner, at which I may type, but upon pressing enter, it just returns to the next line with no other results. Also, if I click a mouse button, I then get a rectangular mouse cursor that I may move around the screen. This problem, which happens everytime I try to use HardDrake, causes the system to stop respondingand therefore prompts me to force-reset the PC. (and I really hate doing that!!!)

Aopen MX3S w/ integrated LAN, sound and video
Intel PIII 1Ghz processor
Western Digital WD200xx 20Gig HD
Generic three-button wheel mouse–USB
Generic internet keyboard–PS/2
Mandrake 8.1 (download edition)
Additionally, I should add that I’m on my third installation of this distrobution. The first one caused me no problems at all. Only this, and the previous, installations have had this problem. Can someone help me understand what is happening?
