    Is it possible that a 120gb IDE Hardisk is detected in an old P3 550mhz m/b
    or there is a problem in it…

      Depends of your motherboard?s BIOS. If the BIOS don?t recognize your HDD you must upgrade your BIOS. But you must do this only if you have some experience on this field.

          I thing my previous answer was clear. But if don?t understand it, let?s try in other way. Make the right jumper settings on your HDD (You can try two jumper settings: for the first time you can try to set your HDD Master, and the other setting is the Cable Select). You put your HDD in your older computer. You start the computer and enter to BIOS. There you can see if your BIOS recognize your new HDD or not (Try this tip with the two settings; Master and Cable Select). If your BIOS don?t recognize your HDD, the single solution is the BIOS update. This means your BIOS is too old and when the BIOS software was writhed there are no so big HDD. Depending on your BIOS you can update it with fresh software, so your BIOS can recognize the newest HDD.
