Hardware profiles in W2K

By dwaind ·
We have a number of notebooks connected to our network using static IP and running Windows 2K Pro.

If a user has a DSL or cable modem connection at home, what is the best solution for that user to
use the network card in the notebook with that connection? I tried the hardware profile setup,
but when I change the network TCP\IP settings in one profile those settings also change in the other
profile. I'm not sure if it's suppose to work that way in the first place.
Besides buying a seperate PCMIA card or a wireless router to use with their built in wireless
card, I don't know the best solution.
Thanks
Dwain
