I just built my computer and am running Windows XP. It runs much slower then it should and I sometimes lose access to the DVD player and was thinking it might have to do with the way I installed the Hard drive and DVD player, which are my only IDE components. I made the hard drive the master and the DVD the slave. Is that the way it is supposed to be set up?
