Hardware Testers.

I am looking for a software program that will test the bios, video, and bus substrates of a computer.

The problem is that the computer appears to lose vertical sync on a random basis and reboots. Sometimes drivers are lost or I receive a plug and play error in my system logs. This problem became most manifest after I installed a security scanner similar to Core Impact.

The obvious conclusion is that I have a defective install and need to reinstall the scanner, or that the scanner in incompatible with some piece of software in the computer. I am loath to jump to this conclusion because the HP bios F.28 had this issue which the F.38 was supposed to fix.

HP currently will not help me even though I have an extended warranty and the laptop is only six months old because I have removed Vista from the computer and will not reinstall Vista. And yes, I have escalated the issue.

Because of the random nature of the problem, removing the scanner will not definitively identify if the hardware is defective, also this computer has had previous PS/Bios problems in the past.

Therefore, what I am looking for is software that will perform stress tests on the bios, video, and bus systems so that I may isolate whether there is a hardware issue or a software issue involved.

I would appreciate your suggestions and comments on this issue. BTW, I have System Suite 6 and the machine passes its tests, I am looking for something more comprhensive.
