Has anyone used Windows XP 64 yet?

By dsullinger ·
Our son just built himself a new Computer and he purchased the Athlon 64. He really wants to try the new XP 64, but I'm concerned that all his games (UT2004, Battlefield, etc) might have problems or not work at all.

Anyone tried XP 64 yet and if so, could you post your feelings and thoughts.

It is fresh out of the gate. I would wait a while and watch the message boards.

I have a AMD 64 and am looking forward as well.

I just finished up rebuilding mine useing XP64 as my new OS it loaded fine and works well with most programs 32 Or 64 bit I know for sure that Battle field 2 works fine as I keep getting by b-- kicked by the kids on the net It works with some of my utility software but Norton Anti Virus 05 refuses and I have to swap it for a corperate edition to get it to work. what I'm going to do about the rest of my Norton Works Utilities I don't have a clue. the only other thing and this burns me is the company that made my all in one printer has not deemed it unnecessary that I have correct drivers for it. But it was a cheap printer anyway. Just be prepaired all is not as smooth as it could have been. But this must have been close to what the folks who wanted to run 16 and 32 bit stuff on their 32 bit 386"s back in the 80's. Sooner or later we'll all be useing 64 bit hardware and multi thread capable Software. then some bright boy will start pushing 128 bit hardware and soft ware

Thanks for the help. I do remember going from 16 to 32 bit and it was actually a little rougher than what youa re going through. Glad to hear it went well.
