Has anyone worked for Spherion?

By slapp1 ·
Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions about working for Spherion. I have been approached about a position, but I have no info on them and none of my friends have ever worked for them. Before I accept a position, I wanted to hear if anyone had anything to say good or bad that I could use. Thanks folks.

For what this is worth

by amcol In reply to Has anyone worked for Sph ...

My daughter just left Spherion after a year as a recruiter. She was generally happy with the company, had some issues with certain individuals at a management level. That statement describes life for most people at most corporations, so I don't know if I'm helping you at all.

Spherion is a very large recruiting firm with lots of offices in lots of places. They typically don't pigeonhole you in that if you want to move from one discipline to another or from one office to another you have a reasonable expectation you'll be able to do so. Their comp program is no better or worse than anyone else's in this field, although they do seem to be a bit more tolerant of the amount of time it takes new recruiters to get up to speed. My daughter didn't break into the black and start earning commission until she was there ten months, and she found the effort she was putting forth counted in the eyes of management even though it didn't always result in a placement.

From what I've heard from my daughter I'd say Spherion is a reasonable addition to your list of "Companies I'd Consider Working For". Good luck.

That is exactly the kind of inside info I was looking for. Good or bad. I appreciate your time.

I was a temp for Spherion

by kwells In reply to Thanks

I was a temp for my current position with Technisource/Spherion. They were fine as far as a temp company goes, but I would not go through them again. I am glad I am now permanent with the company I was a temp for.... Spherion did not offer any paid time off for their "consultants".
