    Have an E Machine Notebook on my bench, it will not boot or even power up.

    What could possibly be wrong. A client of mine asked me to investigate why her EMachine note book will not power up/boot etc. Even if it would run just long enough to get her data/pictures off it would be great. Any ideas? I have tried swapping the Ram, unplugging, and reinstalling the hd. Battery seems to be fully charged. Right now I am trying to dissassemble it (remove back cover) to see if there is something visually wrong inside. I dunno. I am stumped. (Can’t get the damn cover off LOL.) Any help would be appreciated.
    Note: is the first time I ever worked on one of these things.

      If it’s just to get the Data off the HDD pull it fit it to a USB to HDD Lead, then connect to a working computer that can read the Partition Type that is on the HDD and copy the data that way, provided of course that the Encrypted File System was not in use.

      If you are asking how to get the NB to run again you’ll need to look at what if anything is actually happening. If there is no Fan or Display you have 2 choices the CPU or M’Board needing replacing and possibly both.
