Have I killed my printer?

By david@haydenpub ·
Hello,
I have a Lexmark Z52 printer and have been refilling the cartridges. So far I have not had a problem but this time I got the cartridge too full and ink ran down the back over the contacts. I did not realize this until installed the cartridge and started getting blobs of ink on everything. Now, even with a brand new cartridge, the printer will not print color. Is there a way to un do this damage?

It is worth a try to use alcohol and a q-tip and clean the printer heads and the internal parts of the printer, then use a old carthridge to try and clean the heads,if this an option using the printer setup.
Good Luck

Turns out the printer was dead but this helped me figure that out.

Probably not.
Plug it out from 110v
Use a q-tip with very hot water first to remove the ink, speccialy those places with too ink. For the most hard_to_remove surfaces, use some alcohol or better isoprophilic alcohol to remove ink.
Let the system 24hs and the plug it again.

Hope it helps
