Having some trouble with Windows XP

By Davida ·
I used StyleXP to change my log on + bootscreen menu and now i can't get past the system recovery screen. When i try to enter safe mode or any of the other options it just sends me back to the SR Screen.

I have a gateway notebook and i also have my OSD, I just don't know how to use it. I'm completely clueless about most computer stuff and i don't know how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

Spyware?

by Toivo Talikka In reply to Having some trouble with ...

Where did you get this product called StyleXP?

If you do a search on StyleXP and use McAfee SiteAdvisor add-on in your browser, the top two hits are marked with a red cross, meaning that those sites have links to sites which distribute software, considered by most people to be "adware, spyware or other unwanted programs".

A spyware application rarely comes just on its own, it brings a number of unwanted applications which can harm your computer and often bring it to a grinding halt.

If this happens on a notebook computer, you may have to bite the bullet and use your recovery CDs from the manufacturer and start from scratch. Remember to install a reputable anti-spyware application, for example Microsoft Windows Defender, AVG Free Anti-Spyware or Spybot Search & Destroy. If in doubt, check the recommendations from http://spywarewarrior.com. McAfee's SiteAdvisor is also a free add-on to your browser which can keep you out of trouble.

By the way, what do you mean by SR Screen? And what is OSD? They are not one's everyday computer jargon.
