Server 2003 environment.
Server handles DHCP, DNS, etc.
HawkingTech HWBA54G wireless access point broadcasts wireless network to two remote locations ~400 & ~500ft away from signal, respectively, using a 9dBi Outdoor Omnidirectional Antenna (HawkingTech HAO9SIP). Each remote location recieves the signal via 9dBi Directional Antennae (HawkingTech HAO9SDP) to respective HWBA54G APs in bridge mode.
The association strength is consistently 45% and 35%. While connected, they get a solid connection with respectable speed and response time from the server and internet. One computer at each remote location which is configured with a static IP (as are each AP).
After exactly one hour, the bridges lose their connection (both in the same moment). The connection stays down for exactly 20 minutes then re-associates. One hour after the connection has re-established, the connection drops for another 20 minute interval.
I have looked through every ounce of configurable options in the wireless AP and the bridges and can’t find anything that seems to be on a timed interval.
I have already replaced the broadcasting AP (but not the antenna), but at this point I am wondering if there is something in the network environment that would cause this drop (but I can’t imagine any process that would choke a wireless broadcast and run for 20 minutes) or if anyone else has had any experience with these particular devices or the same problem with another device.
