HD temperature

I suspect I may have a temperature issue with my computer What should the hard drive, cpu, motherboard temperatures be? Dell 4700 descktop. My hard drive is running at 140*F, is this too high?

If you suspect a heat problem, try these

1. use canned air (gas) to clean out the case and **** excess crap off of the fans (preferably outside or it can be messy).

2. Remove 1 of the case sides and add an additional Internal Fan
or
keep the side of the case off and have a regular fan blowing air into the case (short term).
Do the problems still occur?

Hard Disk Temperature monitoring

If your disk has SMART capability you can get software to monitor the temperature. Try googling "hard disk temperature" and you will see some examples of software. One of them offer a free on-line check.
