My old computer had some difficulty, and it was a bit of a hassle to fix it, so i decided to pull out the hard drive and use an enclosure to transfer the data once my new laptop arrived. The laptop showed up, i set up the drive, switched it on, and nothing. The Laptop ran on vista home premium, and DID install the drive, but ‘Computer’ either doesn’t recognize it or Explorer slows way down trying to. I unplug the drive and everything is back to normal. I tested the drive on a desktop computer, and it took a while to recognize, but once it did, it gave me this error message:
E:\ Is not accessible
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
So, from this point, what’s the easiest way for me to recover my data? Is there something i can do to fix this unrecognizable enclosure? Or some alternative to my current recovery method?
