    Headphone mic not working with splitter

    My steelseries headphones work fine with a laptop. However once I got a new gaming pc I needed a splitter. After using one, the computer processes that both a headphone and microphone are connected. But there is only audio output while the mic never detects anything. I’ve tried almost everything I’ve seen on forums but nothing seems to work.

      Back to the shop to complain. Either you do something wrong (and they should be able to tell) or it’s defective (and you get your money back or another one).

      I can’t offer much more because detail is missing here. My son’s prior laptop used such an adapter but it would break every year. Recently my son changed to an USB Mic and problem solved for good.

      Again, because detail is missing I can’t check to see if the cable was the correct solution.
