I have used Tech Republic for many many many years. I cannot recall the first day I was introduced. I had a free membership through some thing or another for years. Finnally that wore out and I tried the limited free access, but hated it. So now I am a paying member. It is a great reseource and I wish I had more time to read everything I want. Been in Healthcare IT for over 7 years and it was quite a change from the work I used to do in the “computer industry”.
Taking a new direction in my IT career. Moving away from the application dev\support, workstation\server support, and project management role. Will be working with “system interfaces” with Cloverleaf being our primary tool. Will be a departure from always being in meetings and meeting people and now working behind the scenes. Reminds me of the days in the dark with a amber monitor and a greenbar printer doing machine code. But now not so dark, better printer, and almost using English to code. Should be fun.
The pain is going to be weaning my previous peers and customers off of me so I can focus on my new position. So I will be straddling two “worlds” of IT….
