Locked

height of taskbar

By medoed ·
windows xp home edition
when I enable "quick launch" from the taskbar the taskbar doubles in height. the only way to reduce the height of the taskbar is to remove the "quick launch" toolbar . Any suggestions would be appreciated.

THANKS

is this what you wish?
1) right-click on taskbar. deselect Lock Toolbar. also deselect Quick Launch (temporarily)
2) taskbar should be blank and double high now
3)float mouse over top edge until pointer becomes up-down arrow, click and drag top edge down until taskbar single height.
4)right click on taskbar, enable Quick Lauch
should be single height now with QL toolbar
i don't know how to fix it otherwise.
think is ugly bug in XP

I tried with the taskbar locked and unlocked. Either way , when I click "quick launch" the taskbar doubles in height.

There should be a vertical line beside the quicklaunch toolbar. Try moving your cursor over it until you get the 'double arrow' left click and you should be able to drag it to the lower area and then just resize the whole toolbar by dragging the top edge down

After resising it make sure you hit APPLY! Then OK.
