Redhat vs SATA problem

by Bizzo In reply to Helllllllllllllllllllllll ...

There does seem to be a problem with Redhat Linux with SATA drives. I'm not in the position to test these, but these two links give a couple of solutions and workarounds.

Red Hat 9 (Shrike) is pretty old

by seanferd In reply to Helllllllllllllllllllllll ...

It may not have proper support for your SATA drives/controllers. You may be able to get an update to fix that, but I don't think that RH9 is directly supported any longer. Check at the Red Hat website.

Oddly enough, I have Shrike also.

You may want to consider a newer Fedora or other Linux distro.
