Help and Support Center

By GRossKey ·
I recently discovered that I can no longer access the Help and Support Center in WinXP Pro. When I click on it, Windows accesses the hard drive briefly and then nothing. Help and Support Center doesn't come up.

I checked the services, and it shows that Help and Support Center is started. I restarted it, but it still fails to open when I select the Start menu option.

Is there a way to reinstall the Help and Support Center from the XP CD?

Did you try restoring your system to it's previous state?

Log on as Administrator.
Click Start, go to All Programs, go to Accessories, go to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.

On the Welcome to System Restorepage, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.

On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system checkpoint in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.

A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.

On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and thenrestarts the computer.

Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page appears.

Click OK.
