Ok, I acquired a flash drive a couple of years ago (it came free with something I ordered for someone else – since they didn’t need a flash drive they gave it to me). It’s a UT169 with the fingerprint sensor on it. I don’t remember what all I did with it back then, but I know I never got it work (never sensed the fingerprint).
Today I came across it and decided to see if I could get it to work. Apparently I had removed the fingerprint verification software. And of course without verifying a fingerprint the Flash drive denies access. So I can’t even put the software back on! LOL.
So anyway I did a search and found out that these things are easily bypassed:
All you need to do is use the PLscsi tool to send a single USB command ? Command Descriptor Block ? to the stick for access to the public partition to be replaced by access to the protected one.
What I need is for someone to explain to me exactly what that means. (running Vista)
