HELP How to Multiple Wireless POE Access Points in single Wireless Network

By Martin30tx ·
Our new school construction just finished. Wired connections are all great everything works flawless. Now we need to create a wireless network, since lots of teachers and students will use their laptops. We do have already POE capable Nortel switches due to the VOIP phone systems. That saves a lot of trouble however I am not sure which Access Points I should be choosing to combine all of them in one network where laptops automatically roams one AP to another. D-LINK has a AP product DWL-3140AP but it only works with its own controller/switch DES-1228P which is not suitable for our environment. Our school has 1 central comm room and 2 remote rooms they're connected with fiber link via nortel POE switches. So I have to have AP's can be freely distributed as long as they're connected to same network. I am thinking But I am not sure how to create one wireless network with all AP's. Another article suggested putting all SSID's in same name using different channels with 1, 6 and 11. Is it going to be that simple? Any ideas? Did anyone installed similar? For hotels? schools? Throw me some ideas please..
