Help me figure this Cisco Cert Problem

By Larry.Kiger ·
I have been taking a Cisco Course on line as part of my CCND, called Cisco CID. Is this even a valid course, or have i been wasting my time?

CID (Cisco Internetworking Design) is valid course. Only thing you should check - which version of exam is goal. New version of CID exam is Cisco ARCH exam (642-871). If you really know CID topics, you may just read some "additional topics" and pass the exam.

CCND (Cisco Certified Network Designer) is invalid term. Cisco never had this certification. Correct name is CCDP - Cisco Certified Design Professional. And ARCH is last exam in the series to get CCDP certification.

You can get 100% correct information in the first hand: www.cisco.com
Just go "Learning & Events" --> "Career Certifications and Paths". It lists all current certifications available and requirements for them.

Good luck,

PS. If you have more question, send me e-mail.
