Help me find my CD-RW!

By luckie ·
I recently loaded Windows NT onto my Gateway PC. I was running under Win98. However, now that I've "moved up," I can no longer find my CD-RW drive anymore. How can I get WinNT to recognize that it is there?

You will need to download WinNT drivers for the CD-RW and install them. Hope that this helps.

I recommend that you check with Gateway for the correct IDE bus driver for your system with NT.

This may be a tough task, as Gateway tends to build differnt systems for office (NT) vs. home (9 applications.

Without the correct IDE bus driver, Windows can't see your RW drive, and may have problems with other CD drives too.

If Gateway is no help, try and identify who made the chipset that is on the MB (Via, Intel, AMD, Sis) and get the NT IDE driver from them.
