Help Me Fix MS Outlook That No Longer Lets Me Click ANY Links

by russelljalbert . Updated 15 years, 4 months ago

Suddenly, my MS Outlook (and MS Word) no longer allow me to click through links. When I try, I get this error message.window.

MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK: “The operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.”

The problem started occurring immediately after I canceled one of my two gmail accounts (1st on Google, then immediately in Outlook 2007).

I am the Administrator and only user of this ThinkPad T60 with Vista Ultimate and Office 2007. I have Windows Updates set to automatic. I have been using this laptop for years, and suddenly this problem occured last Friday.

The problem does NOT happen in Internet Explorer – I can click through links with no problems.

So far I have done
1) Manual Windows Update
2) Repair of MS Office

Any advice you can offer is VERY appreciated. It is a real pain to have to copy and paste every link – like all the great TechRepublic RSS feeds 😉

Many thanks,
