On the off chance this is a sincere question,

Try reposting this using the 'Ask a Question' button. The 'Discussion' forum is for matters of general discussion, not specific problems in search of a solution.

There are TR members who specifically seek out problems in need of a solution. Although there is some overlap between the two forums, you'll find more of those members in 'Questions' than here in 'Discussions'.

Additional benefits to the membership include:

1) The "Questions" forum provides for your feedback, by way of your being able to mark "helpful" responses as such. This does not necessarily mean that a given response contained the complete solution to your problem, but only that it served to guide you toward it. This is intended to serve as an aid to those who may in the future have a problem similar to yours, so that they might have a ready source of reference available, thereby perhaps obviating the need for them to repeat questions previously asked and answered.

2) The TR search function makes it difficult to find a particular "Discussion" or "Question" if it has not had a recent post; the two types get mingled in the listings. By keeping each type in their respective forums, it is easier for all to find what they are looking for.

It seems to be bios problem go to the msi website then download new bios and you should be able to recover and then load disk of osx 10.6. Follow the instruction of installation and should be able to recover osx 10.6. I know it seems easy, but its not. My suggestion this step and then let me know what happend. Hopefully this fix the issue right away.

i appreciate your come back. i may have a problem doing the update at msi. they specifically say :

1. MSI Live Update Online must use Microsoft? Internet Explorer 5.0 and above versions, OS requires Windows? 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7 32bit.
2. MSI Live Update Online uses Microsoft? ActiveX technology, please modify your ActiveX settings to ensure the proceeding of the automatic analysis and download. If your browser has installed Toolbar plug-ins, which might affect the normal operation of MSI Update Online.
3. Please check your Toolbar-related settings to ensure the proceeding of the update service

what do i do? i had a friend in bali put this igelle operating system on. and it uses thunderbird browser. igelle is an open source system. i am not wanting to spen hundreds of dollars buying windows as i have all that back in the states, just looking to get back my mac osx as everything i have is backed up on that language
thanks again

You had a friend in Bali who installed a new OS, then the computer crashed in Nepal six months ago, and now you're in Melbourne and finally want it fixed?

If you can afford all this globe hopping, you can pay to have it fixed; you can certainly have someone send that Windows media to you. And why do you need Windows when your files are in OS X-compatible formats? Igelle is a Linux distro; it can open both Windows and OS X files. Exactly what make and model of hardware are we discussing here?

I call, "Bull$h!t."

you don't need to update the bios through windows, with the option of putting the bios file of a flash drive, and updating from that.

I'm not completely sure the steps for this, but it should be on the MSI website.
