I have an old PC that is running XP home edition. My son was trying to clear up some space on the hard drive and deleted an exe file. We don’t know what it was. Since then, we can’t connect to the internet. It says that the connection has been made, but it just sits there and never gets all the way loaded.
I have been working on it for a while now. I’ve looked at forums, microsoft website, etc. One thing I noticed is that when I try to do an IPConfig, the window opens but then closes in a flash. That doesn’t happen when I ping… it just can’t find a connection.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
