Help me test something, will ya?

I have just noticed that I can give out + votes a number of times, and then it suddenly stops working, so maybe we have a quota?
Anyway, I'd also like to test whether votes given to an Off Topic discussion are counted for real, as in weekly stats, for example.
So, here's what I propose: Go to the Catch Up Cafe; start from the beginning, and give a + vote to each post (you can skip the ones by me, I won't mind)... If it stops working after a reasonably short while, and you can bother counting the posts you got to vote for, you can report the number you were allowed here.

How's that sound?

Additional research:

by AnsuGisalas In reply to Help me test something, w ...

I revisited the thread, and tried again, and now it took votes again. With much testing, it seems like I can put five plus votes, then it stops taking them. But then, if I reload the message that didn't take (by clicking its title) then maybe it accepts the vote, if that doesn't work then it helps to reload the thread, by clicking its title, then usually I get five more votes. But not every time. And intermittently all the votes will disappear from view, but they all come back upon reload.
Truly weird.

Reload a random number of times

and it seems to work at some point. It's been bugging me a bit the last 3 days, possibly longer.

The folks on TechRepublic are still fixing the issue AnsuGisalas

We all need to be patient while they get their act together. But i gave you a plus on here, so to me it is working abet slowly for my liking. :)
I do not know about the quota system, if they have that in place then that is why this system slows down. I think they need more memory for this site. :)

The disappearing votes at least seem to be a non-permanent issue

That much I learned from this experiment, the votes would be gone from the thread on about half the reloads...

The vote counts show zero, yet, the option for me to vote is greyed out. I'm thinking it's a glitch in the vote retrieval scripts and not an issue with the vote counting.

Reloads don't help either. Locked?

Got 4 votes and died here.

Which was very, very mildly amusing.

One reload, and the vote was showing (just assuming it was my vote, after a second reload showed the same). None of the votes below the above post took, though.

Go forth and crunch this data, Ansu. (Nom nom munch munch munch)

Remember; the target thread is Catch Up Café #3... not this one.

Just in case that was unclear.

It means that you have voted already Or it is still in trouble, but if you use a different ip address then you can vote again.
