Help needed; sound driver nowhere to be found

by michaelalexanderboyer . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Hello,
I have a windows xp computer I recently formatted with my own windows xp disc.
So far, I have re-installed every single driver but one, the audio driver.
My computer an emachines model T2962. Intel celeron d (2.67 ghtz) service pack 2 with 256 mb ddr. Now I have no idea what is wrong with the sound drivers, but every single driver I find on the several forums I googled (and I HAVE googled) not a single one of them works. The closest I got to a working computer is a constant beeping sound which led to driver deinstallation and the installation a a realtec ac97′ driver which when the device (sound) is activated gives me a blue screen. The rest of the drivers I installed did not work or had missing files, or did not even let me download for free.
I have tried everything, from the Intel website to the emachines web site which is gateway.
If someone has any ideas on what driver is the right one for this computer please send a quick link or name to google.
Thanks for your time

I found the driver, but I cannot install or find the controller.
Intel 82801DB AC97 driver is the driver.
If anyone can find the controller I wuld be greateful!
