I am working on a project and I need to connect to the network from a command prompt on PC’s without a floppy drive
I am trying to connect to the network from W98 Safe Mode “Command prompt only”, by typing
“net start nebeui”
I get the error:
“Error loading device driver PROTMAN.DOS
Error 3659: There is a problem with the NetBeui protocol. To delete and then reinstall NetBeui, double-click the Network icon in Control Panel.”
This works on our W95 PC’s…….so why not the W98PC’s. Any ideas?
I am researching the problem, but not any luck. The protocol.ini in the Windows directory seems to be a key element, but there also seems to be other elements to this network connectivity problem.
