What aspect of FTP are you trying to configure.
If your trying to configure a server, the
easiest way it to get webmin from www.webmin.com

If you're trying to configure an FTP client,
there isn't too much to do. For example, in
GFtp, the program opens worg/ith two panels. The
panel on the left list your local system. Select
the directory you want to download files into,
or upload files from. The right ahd panel shows
the directory on the remote server. It's blank
until you connect to a remote server.

To connect to a server use the following example
to connect to ftp.redhat.com

In the hostanme box, enter ftp.redhat.com
Leave the port number box empty. It defaults to
port 21

In the username box, enter anonymous
In the pasword box, enter a valid e-mail address

Click on the green icon next to the host name
box. This will connect you to the redhat FTP
server.

When you connect, the left had panel will show
you a list of directories you have access to.

Double-click on the /pub directory, the the
redhat directory. You will see a list of several
directories.

Use thaq same procedure to see the files
contained in these directories

Click on the red icon (stop) in the top right
corner of the screen to close the connection

Cheers

Jim
