HELP! Recover files deleted in a NT Serv

By Balu ·
Please help!!!!

I have lost critical data from a folder in my NT server, NTFS file system. Somebody deleted it from the network for which I have no backup. I want to recover the data. Tried few utilities like 'File Scavenger' from QueTek Consulting - which is a NTFS undelete utility. It lists my files, but cant restore them. Immediate attention please....
Thanks!

HELP! Recover files deleted in a NT Serv

You can try Executive Software's Undelete utility (www.execsoft.com) which was available for free last time I looked. Otherwise, you may be TOTALLY out of luck.

1. Send drive to a data-recovery shop (expensive; is the data worth that much?) - also possible that the data has been overwritten and may STILL be unrecoverable.

2. Check your backups; is there a local temp file for the data file, etc.

Your pretty much out of luck. To use undelete it has to be installed before the file was deleted. (A good thing to have if your backups aren't running correctly)
