Help Regarding Virus Attacks

By shail_rtz ·
Recently i have been getting mails, with microsoft logo saying it's a upgrade patch.I know it's a virus.I haven't opened any of the files, but my problem it that i am tired of blocking the addresses everyday.I get 15-20 mails everyday eachone comming from different address. This is happening with my Yahoo account.
Can somebody tell me what can be done to permanently avoid getting such mails?

Please help!!!!!!

Thanks in Anticipation.

Stop reading e-mail.

And I'm being serious.

Your never going to be able to 100% stop all spam or infected e-mails from getting to you.

The best thing you can do is to not open them. There are though things you can do to help mitigate their effects. Like AV software on the desktop scanning all downloaded files.

Extension blocking for attachments at the mail server (i know you have a yahoo account so you are pretty much at their mercy). This will stop malicious attachments from getting thru, but the e-mail itself will still get thru.
