Help!: Windows XP Services Automatically Turns Off

By inque_54 ·
Hello, first time poster and extremely anxious about the problem which goes like this:

I just recently discovered that one of our Workstations which has Windows XP Professional Edition (SP2) installed starts to fall out of the Network abrubtly. Although the unit can still go online to the internet, it could not access the local Workgroup.

So I did some research and for some reason the "Computer Browser" service was turned off, so I turned it back on again and everything seems to be ok after several minutes the same problem happens again.

I yet again did some research and apparently, Windows Firewall has an effect to this when it's turned off, so I went to check if it was and it gave me a message that the Windows Security Service was turned off and I have to turn it back on. I'm thinking if this is a virus / worm / malware related problem. Sorry if the details are vague, but I'm scrambling google to seek for answers. I hope you guys can help too!

Thanks in advance
