I have posted this here because I have had no results in the support section for Windows. We are upgrading a system at our site with Windows 2000. I am currently
attempting to load a Dos based program for the client called Asset 2000. The
software requires buffers to be set at 15 in the config.sys file in order to
run. When I execute the program I receive an error stating “Your Config.sys
has Buffers=0 Asset requires 15 or more. Change it to the correct number,
re-boot and try again.”I have edited the config.sys, and config.nt to
reflect the buffers. I then proceeded to edit the pif settings to point to
either of the two system files. I still receive the error. The program runs
a batch file to execute. I have also edited that file to reflect the buffers
with no avail. If anyone has encountered a similar issue with Windows 2000
and a Dos based program or experience with the Asset 2000 software help
would be appreciated.
