Help with configuring router for http access to linux server

    Hello there,

For the past month or so I have learned some fundamentals to networking and numerous other methods of remote access of computers, basic stuff really (SSH, FTP, etc).

I’ve managed to put together a rockpi4 running a 4TB linux raid array which I can access via SFTP/Samba on various devices throughout the household.

My internal IP for the server is 192.168.1.194, ports should be properly forwarded for SSH, FTP, and HTTP (80), however I am unable to connect to the server externally.

I’m not really sure how to get DDNS to work. It’s switched on on my router, an ASUS RT-N66U with an address but I’m unable to access my server externally.

Also, it’s not clear to me how I am to acquire a public IP for my device to begin with. The IP address that’s listed, the public one, is way too short for me to believe it’s correct. How do I even begin troubleshooting this? It’s killing me ttrying to figure out what next steps should be.
